Congratulations on a great job posting on the blog so far! Remember this week you are presenting a talk about school. Make sure you are prepared. to talk for two minutes.
Keep collecting sponsors for the walkathon - you have a few weeks left to do this. There will be a prize for the person who collects the most sponsors in each class.
Here are this week's spelling rules. Try to practise them in sentences this week. You will also find your dictation passage and handwriting passage to practise.

Handwriting Passage for Week 6:

At the equator we witnessed the eclipse of the sun.  During this epoch many people effaced enormous buildings.  Beware of people who reverse in cars because they may collide with you.  People in defeat tend to revolt.

Dictation Passage for Week 6:

1.            Now that Gran is alone she makes a lot of calls on the telephone.

2.            My dad said the bride must elope.

3.            Mum will explode if we are not polite.

4.            Do you have any antidote for my snake bite?

 

Here is another rule for you to practise if you would like.

Rules:  Words ending in “y”                                        

When a word ends in a consonant and a “y”, change the y to an “i” before adding any vowel or consonant ending.

eg.  cry  +  ed  = cried                           fry  +  ed  = fried                            try  +  ed =  tried

      marry  +  ed =  married
