Year 4 Talking and Listening Topics Term 1

Year 4 Flinders and Cook Classes

Talking and Listening Tasks

Term 1 2014

Each week in Term 1, children in Flinders and Cook classes are asked to take part in composing and responding activities (talking and listening) as part of the English Program and the wider curriculum.
Each child has an allotted Talking and Listening time and is asked to prepare and present to the class according to the following schedule.

Composinging / Talking and listening presentations should be:

ü  About 1 to 2 minutes in duration

ü   Prepared and organised but fairly informal. The aim is for the children to talk to the class. Not present prepared speeches every week.

ü  Accompanied by displays, photos, slideshows or any relevant materials sourced or created that a child feels they wish to include.

ü  Odd weeks of the term are always free choice. Even weeks are set topics.
